Meet Our Board

The MSSPA Board of Directors is composed of dedicated leaders and professionals who share a common mission—to strengthen and empower the multicultural Spanish-speaking provider community through collaboration, advocacy, and education.

Teresa Aspinwall, MSSPA board member, first Executive Director.

Teresa Aspinwall is a renowned leader in early childhood education, with over 25 years of experience. As an advocate, she works to break down barriers facing educators and promote social justice. She was the first Executive Director of MSSPA, leading efforts to address linguistic, academic, and bureaucratic barriers facing bilingual educators. In 2019, she collaborated with UDC-CC to create programs with comprehensive support, including information sessions, workshops, and individualized support.

With a deep understanding of DC's policy landscape, Teresa brings her expertise as a liaison between organizations to strengthen MSSPA. Her leadership laid the foundation for the organization's growth, promoting equity and justice for early childhood education workers.

As a bilingual cohort liaison, Teresa provided individualized guidance to applicants, managing admission, financial aid, and program expectations. Her role included teaching, translation, and being an accessible resource for full-time students, significantly contributing to early childhood education development.

Currently, she is Senior Advisor at MSSPA and a Board member, focusing on promoting equity and justice for early childhood education workers. Her work has had a lasting impact on the educational community, supporting early childhood educators and promoting quality education.
